What is Faith?

Hebrews 11:1 says that "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Broken down it means Now faith is the proof of things that we have set a goal for, the evidence of things not perceived by our physical senses.

Faith Speaks

Throughout the Bible, we are directed to "say":

Paul speaking to the Corinthian church said in II Cor. 4:13
We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed , and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak

Jesus speaking with the disciples in Mark 11:22-24 said:

22 -"Have faith in God (have the faith of God)"
23 - "For verily I say unto you,
That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast out into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have what he saith."
24 - Therefore I say unto you'
What things ye desire, when you pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."

The psalmist knew the value in speaking when he said in
Psa. 91:2
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God; in him will I trust.

Psa.122:8
For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

Faith Obeys

Faith without works is dead, so if we believe in what we have faith for, we should walk in that belief. We cannot speak belief but walk in unbelief. How can you say I am believing God for my healing and in another conversation say, I just can't get over this condition. Faith doesn't work that way.
